Any path you choose in your life, your first and foremost step is to ask yourself- Hey! How am I doing? I have been asking myself this question for couple of months now, and it helped me immediately tap into my emotional and physical state. Building awareness with yourself serves as a powerhouse to a great start. Ask yourself questions, respond to the question. And your next job has to be – What can I do to improve it? It can be following a quick shower, listening to a podcast, making your favourite toast or reading some quick quotes or perhaps, looking at the sky is all that I need for now.
Here are some ways that will help you find yours,
Check for something that is simple and uncomplicated. People tend to keep complicated routines and the very act of doing that activity involves too many obstacles. My favourite is hydrating myself with a glass of water.
Try to keep the activities easy on your pocket, I know, just the idea of getting a spa is relaxing but I believe that will be on cost of cutting on a lot of savings. So, something that is helping you sustain and affordable, example- creating your own journal.
Next, look out for something that is serving you. We often confuse self care with something that is solely for recreation. I deeply feel that it should add value for you, it can be attending a course, doing something you are passionate about.
Lastly, it should be so much fun that you consistently look forward to it. It is only when you find things exciting, and adds value to your well being, you tend to go back to it.
To sum up, just keep these 4 points in your mind self care is not in fancy things. It is in the simple, affordable, serving and consistent acts.
